Gary Pisoni and his sons farm one of California's great vineyard sites, in the Santa Lucia Highlands of Monterey County. They grow Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with huge attention to detail, then know when to step back and let the grapes speak.

Just one Chardonnay and one Pinot Noir carry the estate label. Everything else goes into their second label, Lucia. Rain is so scarce here that dry farming will not work, so the vines get drip irrigation set up to copy natural rainfall. Both labels make pure, focused wines.
