Poggio al Tesoro

Poggio al Tesoro is a Bolgheri estate on the Tuscan coast, founded in 2002 by Marilisa Allegrini with her late brother Walter. They came from Valpolicella looking for a new adventure, drawn by Bolgheri's mix of soils.

They bought vineyards with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot already planted, then added land from neighbours. New planting began in 2003 after careful soil studies: the two Cabernets on warm sandy soils full of fossils, and Merlot on clay. The estate now covers 64 hectares around Bolgheri.

Sustainable farming has been central since 2014, and in 2022 the estate gained Equalitas certification. Marilisa runs it today with her daughters Caterina and Carlotta. The range runs from crisp Vermentino and Viognier to rosé and Bordeaux-style reds.
