Ponte del Diavolo
Ponte del Diavolo brings together Ca' Morlin winemaker Andrea Morlin, consultant Alana McGettigan and Matt Thomson of Blank Canvas. The grapes grow on free-draining soils in Grave del Friuli.
The name comes from the medieval Devil's Bridge in nearby Cividale. Legend says the devil offered to build it if he could have the soul of whoever crossed first, so the clever locals sent over a dog, or a cat, depending on who tells it.
Expect a Pinot Grigio with more weight than the usual cheaper ones, a mineral Sauvignon and a juicy, blackberry-rich Refosco.
