Principe Pallavicini

The Pallavicini family have owned land in Lazio for hundreds of years, and their story is tied up with popes, cardinals and princes. They own the Palazzo Pallavicini-Rospigliosi in Rome.

Their wine comes from their Tenuta di Colonna estate, in the Castelli Romani south east of Rome. There are about 60 hectares of vines, mostly white grapes, at 200 metres on volcanic soils, chalky clay and sand. The winery sits on top of a Roman cistern and aqueduct.

The style is modern, clean and lively, showing off local grapes: Malvasia for the whites, including Frascati, and Cesanese for the reds.
