Producer Central Otago, New Zealand

Rua

The Skeggs family were early pioneers, buying land and planting vines in Central Otago, back in the mid-1990s. They have since earned a strong name for Pinot Noir under the RUA label.

They have six vineyards, 90 hectares in all, across Bannockburn and Pisa. Parcels are picked to suit an easy-going, cool-climate style. The team farm with a light touch and an eye on the future: composting grape skins, mulching, cover crops, native planting and sheep grazing all help keep the land healthy.

Expect a fragrant, fine-tannined Central Otago Pinot Noir that is very good value.
