Scala Dei

Scala Dei is a pioneer of Priorat in Catalonia, both in its history and its style. Its story starts in 1194, when Carthusian monks founded the winery.

Winemaker Ricard Rofes keeps that handmade, traditional spirit alive. There are seventy hectares of historic vineyards, some of them growing vines for centuries, with Garnacha and Cariñena thriving on rugged land in a Mediterranean climate. Made in small amounts, the wines have grace and energy and show their land clearly, which sets them apart in the region.
