Serègo Alighieri

Serègo Alighieri is a Veneto estate that the son of Dante Alighieri, the poet of the Divine Comedy, bought in 1353. His descendants still own it, and Masi lends a hand with the winemaking.

Cool vineyards near Lake Garda give rich, clear flavours. The reds, apart from the sweet Recioto, are aged in traditional cherry wood barrels, which adds a spicy twist all its own. One special Valpolicella marked the estate's 650th birthday, made from the best hillside vines and fermented twice for extra depth.
