Teruzzi

Teruzzi is in San Gimignano, the hill town in Tuscany close to Chianti. Enrico Teruzzi arrived in 1974 and was one of the first in the region to bring temperature control into his cellar.

He also did a great deal to rescue Vernaccia, the area's own white grape, which was close to dying out. The DOC rules already existed, since Vernaccia di San Gimignano became the first DOC in 1966. But it was growers like Enrico who made sure this full-flavoured white is still made and enjoyed today. San Gimignano is also getting a name for its Sangiovese.

Teruzzi wines
