Producer Hawke's Bay, New Zealand

Trinity Hill

Trinity Hill makes wines that sum up Hawke's Bay in New Zealand. Winemaker John Hancock started it in 1993 with restaurant owners Robert and Robyn Wilson, and in 2021 it passed to a group of New Zealand investors including director Mitch Plaw.

Warren Gibson has been the winemaker since 1997. He also looks after their 80 hectares of vines across Hawke's Bay and knows the area inside out. They were early to plant on the Gimblett Gravels, stony soils left by an old river and now prized for Chardonnay and Syrah. All three of their own vineyards are there.

The wines are balanced, precise and a real pleasure to drink. Look out for creamy Chardonnay, peppery Syrah, Merlot-led blends and a soft, velvety Pinot Noir.
