Producer Marche, Italy

Umani Ronchi

The story starts in 1957, when Gino Umani Ronchi set up a small farm in the Verdicchio Classico area of the Marche, on Italy's Adriatic coast. A few years later the Bianchi-Bernetti family bought it. They kept the name but made the business very much their own.

They looked abroad early and grew steadily, and today they farm 210 hectares across Conero, Castelli di Jesi and Abruzzo, with a winery in each. Even at that size they stay true to local styles. Their range shows just how good, and how varied, the native grapes of the Marche and Abruzzo can be.
