Villa Bucci

Villa Bucci is in the Castelli di Jesi area of the Marche, and few estates have done more for Verdicchio. For over 40 years Ampelio Bucci showed what this grape could do on great sites with real care, and helped bring it back into fashion around the world.

In 2024, in his late 80s, Ampelio sold the estate to the Veronesi family, who are keen to carry on his work. He died in 2025.

The estate covers 350 hectares, with 31 of them organic vineyard, mostly Verdicchio spread over five sites. Many vines are very old and yields are about half what the rules allow. That gives white wines of real depth that age well, some of them in large Slavonian oak casks.
