Vins Pepe Raventós

Vins Pepe Raventós is the personal project of Pepe Raventós, kept apart from his family business in Catalonia. He calls it the project of his dreams.

He makes tiny amounts of wine from four small plots on the Raventós estate, each under two hectares. They are planted with old local grapes: Bastard Negre (which is Graciano), Malvasia de Sitges and Xarel·lo. The vines grow on chalky soils and are farmed biodynamically with compost from the family farm, using horses where they can to go easy on the soil.

Each plot is picked and made on its own with as little meddling as possible, in tanks, barrels, amphorae or qvevri. He also makes a long-aged sparkling wine with a salty edge.
