In the early 20th century, Riesling from these steep slopes was hugely sought after. It was poured in grand hotels and for nobles and royals, and sold for more than the best Bordeaux.

Today the Thanisch family farm sustainably across the whole estate, getting the best from old vines that are almost all ungrafted. The wines are loved for their delicate fruit, freshness and grace.
