Wine & Soul

Wine & Soul is the Douro project of two winemakers, Jorge Serôdio Borges and Sandra Tavares da Silva. They married in 2001 and marked the occasion by making a wine together.

Jorge comes from five generations of Douro winemakers. In 2008 he inherited Quinta da Manoella, an estate that dates back to 1838, where the land is still worked with horse-drawn ploughs.

Their first wine was made the traditional way, with the grapes trodden by foot in granite tanks. One of their whites is made only from native grapes.
